Honey Garlic and Thai Chili Chicken Tenders
This little sweet and spicy honey garlic Thai chili glazed and grilled chicken tenders are something that will be gobbled up quickly. They are also a good thing to make on a Sunday night and munch on all week. The honey garlic chili glaze only marinates the longer they sit in the fridge. If you follow the ACSM guidelines for resistance training like we do, this is a great way to meet your protein requirements.
These tenders are super easy to make and my wife could smell them grilling from 4 buildings away. There are only 3 ingredients unless you include garnishes as an ingredient. They are 2 pounds of raw chicken tenders, 1 cup honey and 1 cup of sambal, garlic chili sauce.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup honey, cost about $0.70
- ½ cup sambal garlic chili sauce, cost about $1.00
- 2 pounds of raw chicken breast tenders, cost about $7.00
- *Optionally chopped cilantro for garnish
- *You will also want to have a brush and tongs for the grill if possible
Instructions:
- Poke holes in the tenders using a sharp knife or fork to help absorb the sauce
- Mix the honey and sambal together in a bowl or large measuring cup
- Put the chicken on the grill and grill at medium-high, glazing the side facing up
- Flip frequently, glazing the side facing you each time for several times until it is coated
- Once you feel like they are about done you can just cut into one to make sure it is no longer pink in the middle. (*Make sure to allow time to kill any bacteria from using the same glaze you dipped the brush in after touching the raw chicken. )
- Garnish with cilantro and serve hot!
