This is one of the easiest recipes I will ever post. It is arguably not even a recipe but more of just an idea for lazy, cheapskates like myself. I am posting this on New Year's Day because every year we try to do the typical New Year's things. Cabbage is one of them.
This year I realized that no one said you can't get your cabbage in a salad. 🙂 Our local grocery store also has deep discounts on salad kits later in the day which works really well into our daily workout schedule because it's on the way home from the gym. If you have Kroger in your area look for this sticker. I'm sure every store is similar.
I just bought this and some lean meat which was also in the clearance area. I used a pork loin roasted at 350 degrees with 3 parts Sriracha to 1 part honey for a sweet and spicy sauce and poked holes in the pork before adding the sauce. It really doesn't get much easier but here is that recipe if you need it. You could probably do it with any lean meat, just adjust the time and temp per the meat type.
I had my wife just cut the pork in strips.
I tossed the salad and added the freshly cooked meat on top while it was still steaming and the result was beautiful and delicious with minimal effort or money. I also added some shredded cheese and small tomatoes. My wife said she could eat it every day. Success! Enjoy!
