Copycat Starbucks Sous Vide Egg White and Pepper Bites Using An Instant Pot
Copycat Starbucks Sous Vide Egg White Bites Using An Instant Pot is one of my new favorites. You can make it with Thai peppers rather than the roasted red peppers Starbucks uses to make it more interesting and save money. I found a mold online made just for this recipe we made in the oven earlier with muffin tins. Starbucks made them sous vide, so using the instant pot with it's included trivet is actually more similar.
Making it a little healthier
I love Starbucks for leading the way in using more whole foods ingredients. They can still do better though by getting rid of a lot of processed ingredients like guar gum, citric acid, Powdered Cellulose, Natamycin, stuff they have to use for shelf life. I also made it a bit healthier by using a fat-free cottage cheese only, leaving out the Monterey Jack. That reduces the fat and simplifies it a little.
What you will need for this recipe
I used the InstaExtras egg bite silicone mold for this with the trivet that was included with our instant pot. Of course you have to have an instant pot too. A mixer for the eggs comes in handy but you can do it with just a fork if that's all you have.
Pulling it all together
I used the same ingredients as I did for the Copycat Egg White Bites using the muffin tin on this post. You prep the eggs the same way by mixing all the ingredients. Getting the other ingredients ready, I used the instructions on the website for the egg bite recipe.

Equipment
- Instant Pot
- Trivet
- Egg Bite Molds
- Mixer (Optional)
- Large mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon canola oil
- 3 cups egg whites
- 1 cup Fat free cottage cheese
- ¼ cup Thai peppers Small slices
- ½ cup Green onion Finely sliced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together throughoulywith a wisk, immersion blender or fork.
- Oil the egg bite mold to prevent stickage.
- Fill each mold about 80% or less of the way with the egg mixture. They expand.
- Make sure the pressure cooker pot is in the instant pot and fill the bottom of the pot with 1 and ½ cups water.
- Position the trivet with handles up and place the egg bite mold or molds with covers in place on the trivet. You can add aluminum foil to the covers for safety, we didn't and it was fine but the webstie for the molds recommends it.
- Lower the trivet into the pot, secure the lid with pressure valve closed and set to steam for 10 minutes.
- Release the pressure valve after 10 minutes, we also skipped this step with no ill effects, but again, the website recommends it.
- Carefully remove and invert onto a plate, being careful not to break up the egg bites. They are a little fragile.
- Add garnish and serve. 🙂
