Grilled Oysters with Thai Seafood Dipping Sauce

    "<yoastmark

Grilled oysters are just about as easy as it gets when it comes to Thai food.  You just buy the raw unopened oysters and throw them on the grill.

    Nutrition Facts

Oysters are a good source of protein, omega 3 fatty acids and of course zinc.  We all had a good laugh knowing that these little guys are an aphrodisiac.  That means they might help your sex life.  😉  They are sold fresh or frozen almost anywhere in the world.   Wikipedia has a great page with the detailed nutrition information here.   Our sauce is made with lower calorie options so you don't have to worry as much.

    Sustainability

Oysters are one of the more sustainable seafood choices to go with.  It is widely known how to farm them and it can be done without disrupting the environment too much.  But.... when in doubt, check it out.  That is always my motto.  You can check at the Monterey Bay Aquarium's seafood watch app below.

http://www.seafoodwatch.org/ is a good place to check and make sure what you are buying was caught or farmed responsibly.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 Dozen fresh oysters
    • Thai seafood sauce. See below or also on our blog entry for this sauce at this web address.  https://healthythairecipes.com/thai-dipping-sauce-for-seafood/

    Instructions:

    1.  Cook over a good sized fire until they start to pop open.

    2.  Open with a thick knife or oyster knife or screwdriver, saving the juices by keeping them level.

    2.  Place approximately 1 tablespoon of the sauce into each oyster left in the shell and serve

    For the sauce

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 2 tbsp. fish sauce
    • 1 tbsp. stevia
    • 3-4 limes
    • 3 Thai peppers
    • ½ piece of garlic
    • ¼ teaspoon Knorr reduced sodium seasoning salt
    • 2 teaspoon oyster sauce

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. Pound the garlic and Thai peppers in a mortar and pestle until it is a paste
    2.  Add the pepper and garlic to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients and wisk
    3. Serve with your choice of protein and vegetables, by the way this sauce goes very well with all kinds of seafood.
