Sweet Sriracha Salmon
This Sriracha Salmon is a tasty fish dish and an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids. My Sriracha version adds some heat to it with Sriracha and Thai chili.
The inspiration for this recipe
This recipe has inspiration from "Firecracker Salmon" by the Recipe-Diaries. My husband showed me this recipe and wanted me to cook the salmon that he bought last week.
Why this recipe is healthy
Omega 3 is the essential fatty acids that our body can synthesize itself like the other kinds of fat. These fatty acids are a healthy fat that we need for metabolism. Read more at wikipedia here.
Adding some Thai to the recipe
When I saw the original recipe, I tried to adapt it with whatever I have had in my pantry. I used Sriracha sauce for the hot sauce and seasoned it with vinegar, fish sauce, Stevia, and garlic powder.
The sauce
The sauce came out so perfect. It's so spicy but sweet and savory. When my husband got home, I told him to try the salmon, and he finished the whole thing in less than a minute. I knew from that moment that this was a good recipe.
Considerations for cooking this recipe
I baked the salmon for 10 minutes before I broiled it. First, I was going to broil the fish for few minutes. After 2 minutes I opened the oven and saw the edge of the salmon a little bit dry. I would say keep your eyes on the salmon when you broil it so that it doesn't burn.

- ¼ cup Sriracha
- ¼ cup Stevia
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce

- Switch the oven to broil and cook the salmon about 2-4 minutes; depends on how thick your salmon.
