    Pad Kra Pow With A Fried Egg Khai Dao - Thai Basil Chicken With A Fried Egg

    Pad Kra Pow With A Fried Egg Khai Dao - Thai Basil Chicken With A Fried Egg is a typical dish you can find in a Thai diner.  You may find it made with a variety of different meats.  You might also find it without the egg on top but we think the egg adds a lot of novelty and fun to the dish.  As usual, we have rehabbed this recipe a little to optimize it for health.  If you have special dietary concerns check it out with your health professional of choice!

    Pad Kra Pow Khai Dao- Thai basil with an egg

    Ingredients

    • 1 LB. chicken breast, finely chopped.
    • 2 Cups long beans or green beans finely shopped.
    • 1 Cup of basil leaves.
    • 5-7 Crushed Thai peppers
    • 1 tablespoon of crushed and chopped garlic.
    • 2 tablespoon of olive  or canola oil
    • 1½ tablespoon Seasoning Soy Sauce
    •  1 tablespoon Low Sodium Soy Sauce
    • 1 teaspoon Oyster Sauce
    • 1 or 2 eggs
    • 1 tablespoon oil for fry egg

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Heat the oil and add the garlic and Thai pepper and stir fry until the garlic turn golden brown.
    2. Add the chopped chicken and stir fry making sure not to let the chicken clump together.
    3. Add the green beans and stir fry until they are soft.
    4. Next, add the basil leaves and all the sauce.
    5. Stir Fry for a few more minutes.
    6. On another clean non-stick pan. Heat oil on medium low heat, crack the egg(s) into the pan and cover with a lid and let it cook for few minutes.
    7. Serve Pad Kra Pow and Khai Dow over brown rice or red ruby rice.
